Dear All,

I wish to on behalf of the Federation of African Medical Physics Organization (FAMPO) Executive Committee, the Committee Chairs and indeed the whole membership of the organization (many of whom have since express their individual messages since the news broke during the early hours of today – 21st March, 2017), our commiseration with  the immediate family members of this indefatigable and dependable colleague and friend, the small but reliable Ugandan Medical Physics family and the greater Ugandan Radiation Medicine (Radiographers, Radiologists, Radiotherapists) community of this great loss. We understand Peter have been unwell for about 2 months; he died Saturday (18th March) morning and was buried on Monday 20th March 2017.

From the encomiums that have been received so far, obviously 'Peter have done his bit' and he is very well appreciated in and around his immediate community. > He was instrumental in starting the Radiotherapy Department with Dr Joseph Kigula in the early / mid 1990s. In the last 10 - 15 years, he was dedicated to teaching Radiological Physics in the Radiology Department, Makerere University, Kampala, UGANDA. He has been involved in training of about 100 radiologists and 700 diagnostic radiographers. >

May the Lord God show him mercy and give his nuclear and extended family members (including us – the FAMPO fraternity), the fortitude and grace to cope with this irreversible and irreparable exit.

Adieu Peter and May his gentle soul Rest in Perfect Peace (Amen).
